4.1 Key findings
From the data collected, it was clearly found that when plants are placed nearer to the internet router, the microwave which is radiated from the internet router affects the plants’ growth tremendously. The data is Fig. 5 suggests that the microwaves from the internet router have severely affected the growth of the plants near the internet router. The graph in Fig. 3 also shows the different heights of the plants in the different boxes. It can be clearly seen that the height in Box 1 is low compared to Box 6 where the plants are growing better as they are further away from the internet router. Therefore, it was concluded that the plants in the box furthest away grow better than the plants nearest to the internet router.
4.2 Explanation of key findings
This is because the internet router radiates microwaves which affects the growth of the plants in the different boxes. From this it can be deducted that the microwave from the internet router affects the growth of plants.
4.3 Evaluation of hypothesis
Hypothesis: The closer the plants are to the internet router, the shorter the height of the plants due to the microwave given out by the internet router.
This hypothesis was proven to be right as the microwave from the internet router affects the growth of the plants as the plants directly under the router didn’t grow well but the plants further away fared much better.
4.4 Areas for improvement
There are a few things that could have been improved in this experiment.
During the nursery stage, the area where we left our plants at first should have been observed so we could have found out that there were rats there so we could have avoided the rat incident which forced us to redo our entire experiment from scratch.
